Cat Therapy
Cat Therapy
A calming digital experience for children with depression
App Overview
My primary aim was to craft a calm, intuitive, and engaging user experience that ensures children feel supported without being overwhelmed. It is particularly useful for children who have depressions, as depressed people tend to be cured by touching and playing with cats.
The Specific Goals of the App
Safety and Support
The app is designed to make depressed children or adults feel it is a secure digital space where people can find emotional support, fostering a sense of trust and comfort.
Simple and Intuitive Interface
Given the age and mental state of the target users, the app features straightforward navigation and a clean, uncluttered design, avoiding complex functionalities or excessive options.
Gentle Interaction and Positive Feedback
I used some famous cats on the internet as main characters. It looks very cute and promotes a soothing, peaceful atmosphere.
Gameplay Mechanics
When the cat eats mouse, it gets bigger; but it will poop and decrease its size over time. The rate of mouse coming into the screen decreases as time passes, to create difficulty in catching the mouse. The game will end when the cat is too small. In the end, the cat that survived the longest is the winner. We can have winner of the week on the screen. This boosts children's sense of accomplishment and motivates continued engagement.
Growth Mechanics
Cats grow when eating mice, creating a sense of progress and achievement
Progressive Challenge
Difficulty increases over time, keeping children engaged and motivated
